Today, the Colorado Division of Insurance announced the approved premium rates for the 2025 plan year. The Colorado Association of Health Plans (CAHP) and its member companies are proud to have worked diligently to develop innovative health insurance plans that offer significant savings and expanded options for Coloradans.
“Our health plans continue to deliver affordable, high-quality options for individuals and small businesses across the state,” said CAHP Executive Director Kevin McFatridge. “The 2025 rates reflect our commitment to provide savings to consumers, while ensuring that our plans remain sustainable in the face of rising healthcare costs. Our member companies have worked tirelessly to manage increases in medical and pharmaceutical prices and provide valuable choices for Coloradans in both the individual and small group markets.”
While the healthcare landscape remains challenging, CAHP continues to advocate for smart, consumer-driven policies that ensure Coloradans have access to affordable health coverage. We urge policymakers to stay focused on the long-term stability of the market by avoiding proposals that increase the underlying cost drivers for consumers. In particular, it is critical that we continue to fund reinsurance programs that have been instrumental in stabilizing premiums. These programs play a crucial role in protecting consumers from sharp premium increases and ensuring that coverage remains affordable for all Coloradans. It is important that we preserve this funding without resorting to higher premiums for consumers.
Consumers can expect to see the new plans and premiums during the upcoming open enrollment period starting November 1, 2024, and running through January 15, 2025.
