Colorado’s health insurance trade group has named a new leader who hails from the health care provider and nonprofit sides of the industry.
The Colorado Association of Health Plans announced Kevin McFatridge as the organization’s executive director on Oct. 14.
McFatridge most recently worked as executive director of the Colorado Healing Fund, a nonprofit that supports victims of mass casualty crimes in the state. Before that, he held an executive role for an advocacy group on behalf of physicians practicing in Michigan.
As the chief operating officer for the Michigan State Medical Society, McFatridge had a front-row seat to the challenges that doctors and other caregivers face in health care, he said. That gives him a unique perspective in his new role representing carriers, he said.
